Key parts of the Port Stephens Coaches Region 3 proposed network
The proposed changes would improve local services in the Nelson Bay area by:
• Creating a new route 131 to replace existing route 31 services which would operate seven days a week to provide better connections between Soldiers Point, Salamander Bay, Spinnaker Way, Nelson Bay and Little Beach. The route would operate via Tomaree Community Hospital, Nelson Bay, Galoola Drive and Bagnall Beach Road.
• Creating a new route 132 to replace existing route 30 services between Soldiers Point and Anna Bay. The new service would operate during weekday peak hours, connecting to Newcastle services on route 130.
• Improving route 130 to operate directly between Shoal Bay and Nelson Bay. The route would no longer divert via the Austral Street shops on selected trips. Alternative services would be available on the new route 131 which would also serve the Tomaree Community Hospital.
• Existing route 30 services between Fingal Bay and Anna Bay will be replaced by route 130. This bus route would continue to operate between Fingal Bay, Nelson Bay and Anna Bay.
