Key parts of the Rovers Coaches Region 1 proposed network
The proposed changes would improve services in Cessnock and Kurri Kurri by:
• Introducing new route 165 Cessnock Hoppa service linking West Cessnock, Cessnock Hospital, East Cessnock and Cessnock Town Centre on weekdays.
• Modifying all bus routes in CessnockTown Centre to operate via Cooper St, North Ave and Darwin St, to provide better access to the shopping centre and leagues club – buses would still operate along Vincent St south of Cooper St.
• Extending route 167 Nulkaba service to South Cessnock, and making route 162 services from Abernethy and Aberdare more direct instead of diverting via South Cessnock.
• Introducing new weekday services between Abermain and Kurri Kurri on route 171, operating via Weston and Kurri Kurri Hospital.
• Introducing new weekday services between Heddon Greta and Kurri Kurri on route 172, also serving Stanford Merthyr and Pelaw Main.
